J7 Fire Ltd · Commercial terms
Terms and Conditions for Supply of Services
J7 quotations are issued with controlled Terms and Conditions. The accepted quotation, these controlled terms and any agreed written variation together form the contract for the instruction.
Order of precedence
The written quotation and any accepted variation identify the particular service, deliverable, fee, VAT, payment arrangement, timescale and exclusions. Where the quotation expressly differs from the standard terms, the quotation applies to that instruction.
Payment on account
The accepted quotation states the payment required on account, VAT treatment, due event, booking or commencement trigger, remaining delivery obligation and any balance condition. An instruction is not eligible for booking until the required payment has cleared or approved written account or portfolio terms are confirmed. The exact payment schedule in the accepted quotation applies to that instruction.
Scope and information
J7 provides only the work defined in the accepted quotation. The client must provide accurate information, suitable access, relevant records and a knowledgeable contact, and must identify any restriction, hazard, urgency or intended third-party reliance. A limitation, inaccessible area or missing evidence may be recorded and may require additional work.
Appointments, changes and cancellation
Dates are subject to receipt of the required information, access and payment arrangement. Changes to the premises, scope, programme, assumptions, access or deliverables may require a written variation and additional fee. Cancellation, postponement and abortive attendance are handled under the controlled terms and the accepted quotation; consumer cancellation rights apply where legally required.
Reports, use and reliance
Reports and other deliverables are prepared for the named client, purpose, premises, scope and date. They do not transfer the responsible person's duties and should not be altered, separated from their limitations or relied upon for another purpose without written agreement. Findings reflect the evidence reasonably available at the time.
Specialist and partner work
Where an instruction requires design, engineering, installation, testing, maintenance or another specialist discipline, the delivery route and competence boundary will be identified. J7 does not represent coordination or referral as specialist work completed by J7.
Client responsibilities and implementation
The client remains responsible for managing the premises, acting on findings, obtaining further specialist advice where identified, maintaining precautions and reviewing arrangements when circumstances change. A report is not a guarantee that every concealed, developing or unreported condition has been identified.
Confidentiality and data protection
Each party must protect confidential information and use personal information lawfully. J7's Privacy Notice explains its controller activities. Where the service requires J7 to process personal information on a client's instructions, the parties will clarify the necessary data-protection responsibilities.
Complaints, liability and law
Concerns should be raised promptly under the Complaints Policy so that they can be investigated. Liability is subject to the controlled terms, applicable insurance, the agreed scope and the limits permitted by law; nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contracts are governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the applicable courts.
Controlled copy
